The couple I couldn't say no to!

When Jenna asked me to be a part of her wedding day, I was beyond honored. Austin and Jenna are a 'legacy couple' for me, as I photographed her brothers wedding almost two years ago! There is just something about capturing multiple life events for a family that adds to the magic. There is an 'ease' to a legacy wedding. I don't know if it comes from already knowing who loves the camera and will sho0t me that big smile or bust a silly move, or it could be that THEY are more comfortable since I am no longer a stranger... whatever it is, its special! This is why I was heartbroken when I realized I was already booked for Jennas wedding date! I knew I had two options, help her find a photographer with a similar style to mine, or send someone in my place. I am a bit of a control freak, so sending another photographer to represent my work and take care of my clients is HARD for me and honestly there was only one person I knew I would be ok sending... my colleague and good friend Steph Otis! I told Jenna that if Steph would agree to photograph in my place, I would still take their wedding on. Thankfully, Steph was available and captured beautiful images of their special day!

Every detail was perfect. From Jenna's constant smile, Austins adoring looks, and the happiness on the faces of their friends and family, it was such a joy to relive their wedding through the photographs! I found myself editing faster than ever because I could not wait to view the next part of their day! Editing a wedding I was not physically there for was a new experience for me, but I have to say I LOVED IT! I am so grateful to have been a part of Austin and Jenna's wedding, even if it was for the behind the scenes part! Although I was not there for the "I do" I did sneak in a quick visit towards the end of the night to snag my "WE DID" selfie! It may seem a little crazy to drive an hour out of the way for a selfie, but the hug I got when Jenna spotted me made the extra drive WORTH IT!

To Austin, Jenna and your wonderful families, THANK YOU for trusting me with yet another chapter in your book of memories! I wish you both years of happiness, endless trips in "white lightening" and many, many more laughs!
